Tasting notes: Ca’Saletti Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC 2009 – Mung Bean Salad – Spanish Tortilla & Ipek Hanim Farm Products

This North Italian rose wine is produced from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes typical to the region of Bardolino located nearby Garda Lake.

The wine does not have that intensity on the nose which I was expecting, however, there are stil certain notes of rose, strawberry followed by red plum and some citrus aromas.

Low acidity brings a very short finish which is not that exciting. May be the wine would have been better if it would have been opened last year.

We tasted this wine together with Mung Bean Salad and Spanish Tortilla. I used the same receipt which I got before from one of my favorite blogs “cafe fernando”. You can get the receipt from the blog. I only added some dried tomatoes on the top which was not included in the original receipt. One the most important point while preparing this salad is “drying” the mung beans (I used a napkin) which gives you a much better result and taste… Very good receipt in deed…

We cooked a more aromatic Spanish tortilla than a classic Spanish one. We added some fresh rosemary and dried tomatoes.

I ordered almost all ingredients of these dishes from a farm located in the Central Aegean region of Turkey, called “Ipek Hanim Farm”… All products produced in this farm are “real organic” products although the owner is not willing to call the products as “organic”, so maybe we can say, they are real “village” products. It is very easy to be subscribed to the email list of Mrs. Pinar, owner of the farm and all products can be ordered via email and can be received by courier, in a certain professional way…
