The Secret of Santa Vittoria…

This masterpiece in which Anthony Quinn was creating a great performance was filmed in 1969 and I finally had a chance to saw this movie last week with accompaniment of a bottle wine 🙂 …

The movie is telling about a story during World War II, where the German invades a town called Santa Vittoria in Italy. The people of Santa Vittoria are trying to hide their valuable wines from the Germans with a great passion.

Actually this is a kind of comedy style movie which has a lot of fun…

The town of Santa Vittoria is located nearby Montefalco in Italy where there is Sagrantino grapes. The famous sweet wine (passito) and dry wine “Sagrantino di Montefalco” are produced here in this region from these grapes.

The final scene of the movie is a fabulous scene which you may understand how “wine” turns into a “passion” for the humans…

I recommend this movie with a nice Italian Passito… Enjoy it 🙂
